There are several ways you can register to vote in Kent County:

Not sure if you're registered?  Check the voter search.

More information about voting procedures in the state of Maryland can be found at the Maryland State Board of Elections.

Mail-In Voting

Since 2020, mail-in voting (also known as absentee voting) has been extended to all Maryland residents.  If you've never requested a mail-in ballot, it will not be sent automatically.  Requesting a ballot can be done online.

You also have the option to request that a ballot be sent automatically for this election and all future all elections.

To receive a ballot for the general election, one must be requested by November 1.

If you plan to use a mail-in ballot for the primary election, one must be requested by May 10.

How mail-in voting works in Maryland

Request a mail-in ballot

Once you have your ballot, it may be submitted via mail, drop box at designated locations, or directly at the Board of Elections office.

Please note that drop box locations are subject to change.  Please see the Board of Elections site for locations.

Important!

Once you have requested your mail-in ballot, you are expected to use that method to vote.  If you attempt to vote in-person you will be required to complete a provisional ballot instead of a regular ballot and it will not be counted until after Election Day.

Where to Vote?
